It's a Norny Life - Chapter Six

Anna hurryed home to her mother. She didn't stop until she got there, but she grabbed her yoyo on her way and clutched it tight with her two paws.

She couldn't have died, she thought to herself, She couldn't!

A tear gently dripped down her face. She had flash backs of the past. She thought of the slapping noises and the groaning noises she had heard on the night her father had died.

"She couldn't have died!" she repeated OVER and OVER to herself.

"Not now! No, I know she didn't!"

She scurried home even faster, and faster! She finally reached home.

"Mother," she called, "Mother, are you there? Mother?" She heard a squeek like a door opening. "Mother, are you there?"

She looked around hopelessly, and she heard the sound of feet, slowly creeping closer, and closer behind her.

"Mo-Mother?" a shiver came across Anna. "MOTHER???"

There was no reply, and silence was spread all through the house. She felt something touch her hair coming from behind her.

"AAAAAHHHH!!!!" she screeched.

But what was it? Was her mother dead? Would she escape? What will happen now?
